D-Day Commemoration and Beacon Lighting

Plans for our D-Day 80 commemoration event are well underway. Keep a look out online as we fill in the details leading up to the day itself and keep a watch out on our Facebook page. We are delighted that John Farmer CBE, President, Royal British Legion, Suffolk, will be lighting our new beacon in unison with all the other locations taking part in the National Tribute to our D-Day veterans. The Tribute itself will be read by Flight Lieutenant Stuart Smith, RAFAC Officer Commanding 1379 (Leiston) Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets, before the beacons are lit across the nation. If you see a light in the sky a few weeks in advance, it will be the beacon team having a trial run!
