Haylings Pond

Haylings Pond and Picnic Area – Leiston’s Best-Kept Secret!

Haylings pond logo

Tucked away just a short stroll from Leiston’s town centre, Haylings Pond and Picnic Area is one of the town’s best hidden gems. This peaceful spot is a favourite among locals looking to escape the hustle and bustle and reconnect with nature.

A popular destination for fishing enthusiasts, the pond is well-stocked and offers a serene place to cast a line — just remember you’ll need a valid fishing permit (details below). Whether you’re an experienced angler or a beginner looking for a quiet place to unwind, Haylings Pond delivers the perfect setting.

But fishing is just one of the many pleasures this area has to offer. On sunny days, the pond becomes a real sun trap — ideal for a picnic, a bit of birdwatching, or simply relaxing with a good book. Surrounded by wildlife and tucked away from the busy high street, it’s a tranquil haven that invites you to slow down and savour the moment.

We would like to thank Galloper Wind Farm Fund for their contribution to the Nature Board at Haylings Pond.
